Capturing the view from the window

The view from my window is so incredibly varied, and I’ve got a little project going where I’m capturing it 100 times in 100 different ways. Sometimes there are storms. Sometimes a plane flies across. Sometimes it is perfectly still and the sea is like a mirrored lake. Other times, there are dark clouds. Then there are the bright blue, pure sunny days. Today, I captured it on one of its rarer days – perfectly still (did you know Wellington is the windiest city in the world?)!

Services

I was working from home today, and it’s really busy at work but I tried to stop and just look outside and step outside too. It’s easy to get carried away with all the work we have to do, but sometimes I feel like there will always be more work but there won’t be another day exactly like this. Even just a little pause moment is nice, to just stop and take in the loveliness and store it away like a little acorn for when you need a bit of a joy harvest! The Remutaka Ranges are a lovely undulating backdrop, and I feel like the different layers are almost like the layers in a theatre backdrop – like they could slide sideways at any moment. The layers are so distinct and are different colours at different times depending on the sun’s position. The way the sunlight comes through in patches and dapples those hills and brings out the yellow of the flora growing there – such a treat for the eyes :) happy Tuesday.
